Glorious Wedding

February 1st, 2016

The Manuel/Cunningham family is quite dear to our hearts, and every bit of their wedding was fresh, breathtaking, and part of an even bigger picture—an invitation to truly celebrate love. You know those families who make you want to be a part of their Instagram photos, be at their dinner table, and want to have their incredibly good-looking genes? Well, this is one of those families. The Manuel’s love for one another is so tremendous, so specific. They go above and beyond to make each moment and person feel truly special, and we were (and are) inspired by their love for one another and their celebration of Amy and Jamie. Truly, Amy and Jamie have an ease and joy that is contagious to be around, and we are so thankful to have been a part of their special day, photographed by the talented Brandon Chesbro at the oh-so-beautiful and idyllic Mint Springs Farm

Tell us your story. We met about 5 years ago through mutual friends. Our relationship wasn’t immediate, but we continued to cross paths over the years. We finally reconnected April of 2014, and it didn’t take long for us to realize we had something special. Quickly our hearts connected, as did our love.

Pick three words you would use to describe your wedding. Magical, relaxed, celebration

We love your style! Tell us a little bit about your aesthetic… I wanted our wedding to feel timeless. My style, in general, is mostly neutral colors, and I wanted the colors of the wedding to be neutral, classy, and full of life by adding greenery to as much as possible. In addition to nude/ blush tones and greenery, I added a pop of gold to many details of the wedding. The bridesmaid dresses were a perfect depiction of the neutral and gold hues. They were one of my favorite finds and looked absolutely stunning on all the bridesmaids.

What was your very favorite detail from the day? Is it acceptable to say that they were all my favorite? ha! It’s truly hard to choose, but I can say that the flowers were definitely one of my favorites. They were amazing (and they really were! Just look here!).

One thing you wish you would’ve know before you started wedding planning… I wish I had known how many options there were in every category of wedding planning! That being said, it took me a while to sit down and figure out what it was I really wanted. I wish I done more research beforehand, however, I am thrilled with how everything turned out!

Tell us why you love EOH custom paper lovelies! Working with Emily and Wade on creating our wedding suite and programs was one my favorite parts of planning. Emily is not only wonderful at bringing ideas to paper, but her artistic talents made our invitations truly stunning. She went over and beyond and made my vision even greater than I had imagined. Emily is incredible.

Manuel-14 Manuel-15

Anything else you’d like to tell us?! We’d love to hear! We received countless compliments on our wedding invitations from guests, which is just another testament to Emily’s exceptional work. I would absolutely choose to work with EOH on any and all custom paper designs in the future!

We want to thank the Manuel and Cunningham family for letting us be a part of the paper but also a part of their lives. There are no words to express how sweet it is to have walked through many years of life with a family (through ups, downs, lefts, rights, you name it), and then get to sit in the pew of their jaw-dropping, rain-stopping, sun-setting ceremony and see the blessing of family and love. Mint Springs Farm was full of warmth and glory that day. It give me shivers thinking about it just now. Thank you Amy; thank you Renee, thank you Al; thank you Jamie (Ashley, Justin, Austin, Kaela, Alysse, and Andrew) for loving Wade and me over the years. Thank you for allowing us to feel a tiny part of your dinner table that day, and thank you for your support and intentional care throughout the years. We are honored to know you and be known by you. Thank you for being an example of a family that loves hard and fights hard for each other’s best. We love you!

We’re ready for you, 2016!

January 13th, 2016

Anddddd we’re back and ready for 2016!

We used the week after Christmas to take a pause from paper after all the holiday orders and UPS lines. We had a full schedule of Christmas and holiday cards, along with some other things. It was a whirlwind, and we could not have done it without YOU! So thank you, thank you, thank you for your orders, your patience, and your encouraging words! So, we’re ready to go into 2016 with our fight faces on– and by fight face, we mean our Macbooks, gluesticks, and our print shop on speed dial. Over the weekend, we went to a wedding of a client, whom we worked very closely throughout the planning process. It was a night of wintry elegance peppered with candles, a string trio, bridesmaids in periwinkle, and a long-sleeved, lace wedding dress. Although not as elegant, the biscuits that the caterers provided at the reception were also worth noting. Much more to come on Catherine’s wedding!

It’s a new year which means that the new wedding season has begun. We believe the invitations you send out help to set the tone for your wedding. We love working with brides to help them create the tone and beauty that they envision for their big day. We’re already working on some lovely bridal suites for brides tying the knot in the late spring/ early summer. Enjoy some of our suites and get inspired for the new year! And if you’re planning a wedding in 2016, we’d love to be a part of it!

Classic French Fete Wedding

October 30th, 2015

Sometimes we get to work with brides that make us dream about going to their wedding. This one was of those moments. Lauren’s classic style was refreshing and easy. She and Mark love all things French, which makes us love them even more! Their French menu and wine made our mouth water, literally not figuratively. As you look at their photos, you will see why we love their style so much. We are honored that they chose to use us to help announce their timeless wedding! Cheers to you, Lauren and Mark! Joie de vivre!!

p.s. take a peek at Lauren’s reception dress – c’est bon (translation, it’s good!).

The (Happy!) Couple’s Names: Lauren and Mark Hollingsworth

Wedding Date: September 5, 2015

Location: Hermitage Hotel, Nashville, TN

Tell us “your story.” Mark and I met a little more than five years ago, one week after he had moved to Nashville. After missing the opportunity to exchange numbers when we met, we hoped we would somehow run into each other. It took almost two months, but we finally did! The scene was like something out of a movie—I was out with friends and was about to leave to head home when I turned around and Mark was right there. We have been together since. We love to travel, cook and learn and feel so blessed to be on this adventure together.

Pick three words you would use to describe your wedding. French-inspired fete

We love your style! Tell us a little bit about your aesthetic… We chose the Hermitage Hotel as our venue because the beauty of the space speaks for itself. In this way, it reminded us of France, a place we both love. It is also an iconic building within this city, so it represents some of what we love about Nashville.

After we had secured the classic venue we had hoped for, we looked for other elements that would complement the beauty and style of the Hermitage Hotel. From my wedding dress, to the dinner menu and music, I wanted to find things that felt timeless. Mark and I both have pretty classic style so we wanted the elements of our big day to reflect this. He wore a classic black tuxedo from Sid Mashburn, and I chose a romantic English lace wedding dress by Temperley Bridal. The hotel is already a colorful place, so we chose to accent its beauty with candlelight and simple floral arrangements.

For the reception, we hired a talented jazz band that played Miles Davis and other classics throughout the cocktail hour and reception. We had a seated dinner featuring a French menu with the traditional courses paired with some of our favorite French wines.

Stone-4

What was your very favorite detail from the day? Changing dresses midway through the reception. I changed from my long English lace gown that was perfect for the ceremony and dinner into a modern short dress that was perfect for the dance floor. AND our ceremony officiated by Reverend Mike Wilson from Downtown Presbyterian.

One thing you wish you would’ve know before you started wedding planning…how much time it takes! I work full-time in healthcare and am finishing an MBA, so I probably couldn’t have chosen a busier time in my life to plan a wedding.

Tell us why you love EOH custom paper lovelies! Mark and I love supporting local businesses that bring an exceptional craft or service to this area. We had originally looked at stationers from various parts of the U.S. but were interested to see if there was a better local option. We were so pleased to find EOH right here in Nashville and really enjoyed working with Emily on designing the classic paper suite we had envisioned.
