• Taylor + Brooke Winter Wedding

    January 24th, 2019

A December wedding with all the best parts of Christmas – warmth, glowing lights, and all your people together for one big festive night! And boy, did they accomplish it! How, you might ask? The combination of winter greenery, woodsy colors, the subtle touches of traditional Christmas ornaments and the cheer that only the holidays can bring. With an incredible aesthetic and an accurate reflection of their journey from friendship to marriage, Taylor and Brooke’s day was a fanciful and fun celebration that we were honored be a part of.

Tell us “your story” in a few sentences. Taylor and I met working in Knoxville, and a great friendship turned into an amazing love story. We dated for several years and then each made our way to Nashville. We both knew we would spend a lifetime together from the very beginning, and I was ecstatic when Taylor proposed in his backyard with our dog Bear asking me on his collar: “Will you marry us?”

Pick three words to describe your wedding. A BLAST!, SO us, and unforgettable!

You have awesome style! Tell us a little bit about your aesthetic. We wanted a winter wedding without being all Christmas themed, so we incorporated lots of green touches and deep florals + greenery. I love warm and woodsy tones and a soft palate, so I found my inspiration there. We wanted our wedding to feel like a reflection of us, casual yet whimsical. The Cordelle felt like the right spot for us, as we loved the exposed walls and beautiful lawn.

What was your very favorite detail from the day? The clear tent! I almost didn’t go clear, but am so glad I did as it felt magical in the tent that night with all our people together. I also loved the clear ornaments we used for the escort cards that had an olive branch inside, and a tag with the menu on one side and name on the other. A little hint to the holiday season.

What is one thing you wish you would’ve know before you started wedding planning? There are silly things that you get bogged down on, just remember they’re silly when you’re in it.

Tell us why you love EOH custom paper lovelies! Emily captured the aesthetic of my wedding perfectly before I had even finished the details of the wedding decor. She had the idea of doing green envelopes, which ended up being a theme throughout the wedding. I LOVED how timeless my invites were, and have it framed now at my house.

There are so many things we love about this couple – SO. MANY. But two words that sum up this couple and this wedding are warmth and joy! It was very fitting that they got married during the holidays, a season all about the warmth of being together and the joy of celebrating. Brooke and Taylor have been warm from first meeting them, and have stayed the same over the years. We have known the bride since she was a teen (!!!) and her warmth has been consistent ever since (and Taylor is the same, as was shared at the rehearsal dinner). Two people who are consistently for their people and for celebrating the present. Brooke was the same when it came to her invites – she wanted the first impression to portray a lovely celebration without being stuffy. Enter gold foil on a soft ivory paper and there you have it! A stunning invitation with hand lettering for the names and a minimal font for the remaining portion of the invitations. A full gold foil suite with a green envelope and gold calligraphy for the addresses – not sure it could be more perfect for them! Thank you, Brooke and Taylor, for using EOH for your paper and allowing us to be apart of your life and your wedding! Cheers to many more magical celebrations!!
