• Ashley + Hunter- Romantic Black Tie Wedding

    October 31st, 2017

When a bride and groom go for the classic black tie wedding, I just can’t help but feel… all. the. feels. I love walking into a wedding where the ladies have chosen their best silk gowns and the men have dressed to the nines in their tuxes. I love when guests have been intentional in celebrating and honoring their hosts by dressing up and rising to such a joyous occasion. Ashley and Hunter’s wedding was no exception— the flowers, rentals, installations, and invites— all welcomed their guests with a bold hello. We love how Austin Gros documented this day, and we wanted to share it with you!

Tell us “your story.” Hunter and I had been friends for 8 years before we started dating. Once we were both single at the same time the sparks flew!

Pick three words you would use to describe your wedding. Modern, chic, and formal!

We love your style! Tell us a little bit about your aesthetic. I like dressing up so I knew I wanted a black tie wedding with all the ladies in formal gowns. I also wanted romance so we used tons of candles for the ceremony and the reception. In every aspect of my life I like bold statements so that was sort of the inspiration for the large tree installation and the linen choices for the tables.

What was your very favorite detail from the day? I can’t pick just one! We did the ceremony in the round which I loved, but I also have to include the tree installation at the center of the head tables! It was truly a jaw-dropping element in the room.

One thing you wish you would’ve know before you started wedding planning? Do not drag out the planning process! It was six months from engagement to my wedding date and I think that was the perfect amount of time. But I thought I needed a year and I was wrong. Any longer and I might have gone crazy!

Tell us why you love EOH custom paper lovelies! People literally called us to tell us how gorgeous our invitations were! What more can you ask for?!

Details on the Wedding Suite: Ashley and Hunter have great taste and we loved collaborating with them on this bold and timeless wedding suite. The couple chose a luxurious thick Crane lettra paper with all black letterpress and a gold foil custom monogram. The bright white paper and square size also gave it a modern twist compared to the traditional rectangle invitation. And to top it off –  the fabric liners! The couple selected black moire fabric liners that were absolutely lovely! Thank you again for letting us help you set the tone for this elegant evening!

Anything else you’d like to tell us?! We’d love to hear! Never underestimate the importance of finding the right wedding planner for you. I cannot imagine going through all of this without Big Events!
