Meet + Greet: Georganna Greene

June 25th, 2015

meetgreetThis summer, EOH has taken on a whole new dynamic as we have added quite a few members to our company. Each of these women have unique gifts that allow them to contribute to our team as a whole. We are so grateful to be advocates and learners of each other’s talents, and as such, we want to share a little bit about the hearts, drives, and passions of those behind the scenes at EOH. So, let’s meet and greet EOH’s art intern and creative assistant, Georganna Greene.

GG EOH 8

Georganna has plugged into EOH’s brand full-force this summer, being Emily’s right hand girl when it comes to anything artistic and creative. She works diligently on cultivating new designs and ideas for upcoming projects. Anything from creating a graduation chalkboard backdrop to tying invitations with the perfect amount of twine, Georganna puts a bit of her unique touch on each project. Although EOH is such a fun project for her, Georganna also is an independent Nashville artist, working through her own mediums and creating amazing pieces unique to her personality. Check out her website by clicking here! As Emily always says, George can really do anything.

What is your role here at EOH Custom Stationers?

G: I create original hand-drawn and painted designs for custom stationery, envelope liners, wedding branding, and more. Right now we are working on a line of original holiday card designs for the upcoming season! Also, as a part of the EOH team I help with production, packaging, and other behind-the-scenes tasks.

GG EOH 7

What is your biggest passion in life?

G: Working with my hands, words, and other tools to create something, anything that asks questions about the wondrous world we live in. An important facet of this creativity is my relationships with other people. Also, I am very passionate about education and the relationships that come from learning and teaching.

GG EOH 0

What would the “perfect day” look like for you?

G: I think my perfect day would take place near a beach. It would begin with a big breakfast, more than enough coffee, and elongated conversations. After hours in the sun, listening to waves, and bike riding, I’d want to wrap it up with a campfire on the beach, complete with music, blankets, and hot dogs. Of course I would need all my family and friends to be present, in order for it to be “perfect.”

GG EOH 6

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned this past year?

G: Not many lessons come easy to me, so I would begin with the importance of struggling. In this culture that promotes self-acceptance over self-criticism, it’s like trying to swim upstream. It takes a daily conscious effort to acknowledge and grapple with areas of life in which I feel weak or enslaved. As I give these struggles over to God, I am reminded where my Strength comes from.

What is one word that describes your personality?

G: Perceptive

Meet + Greet: Paige Woods and Madding McFadden

June 18th, 2015

MEET+-GREET-(THE-INTERNS)

This summer, EOH has taken on a whole new dynamic as we have added quite a few members to our company. Each of these women have unique gifts that allow them to contribute to our team as a whole. We are so grateful to be advocates and learners of each other’s talents, and as such, we want to share a little bit the hearts, drives, and passions of those behind-the-scenes at EOH. So, let’s meet and greet our first set of interns, Paige Woods and Madding McFadden… our dynamic and strategic blogging and social media team!

paige7

Both Paige and Madding have a heart for serving others by helping to tell stories, whether through words or photographs. More than their common love for Team EOH, Paige and Madding have been best friends for the past 8 years, and they love being able to team up using their multidimensional creative facets for EOH this summer (ps: we loved this shoot with Jocelyn Youngdahl). Paige Woods is currently serving EOH by writing posts, assembling new blog ideas, and advancing our social media techniques. Madding McFadden is the mastermind behind our cohesive images and photos this summer on the blog. With a heart for small businesses and creative minds, she is able to capture both their authentic gifts and distinctive work through her camera. We invite you to get to know more of Madding and Paige’s stories through our interview:

What is your role here at EOH Custom Paper Lovelies?

paige2

P: My role at EOH is to try and put words behind Emily’s amazing vision and product. As a company, we try to authentically produce paper that helps tell your story—whether that’s through a wedding invitation, birthday party, or even just custom stationery. Basically, I feel like a blogger’s main job is to be the storyteller and help convey the company’s personality through posts and series. These past few months, we have tried to dig deeper into EOH’s passions by introducing a few new series (like “Dearest,” “Meet + Greet”, plus other series to come) in order to get a bit more of a detailed look at all of the behind-the-scenes work involved in design, inspiration, production, and relationships. I want to challenge readers by going beyond just our paper products—to the people who make up our company.

paige1

M: Primarily, my role is to photograph Emily’s work and, with that, the constant growth of EOH as the team continues to hone their gifts. I am honored to be working with the EOH team this summer as I seek to showcase the ability Emily has been given as well as give readers a glimpse into how Emily is able to help bring so many people to celebrate or simply enjoy each other’s company whether it’s a party invitation, stationery, menu, or rehearsal dinner invite.

What is your biggest passion in life?

paige9

P: I would say that I am most passionate about serving others and going above and beyond people’s expectations. My major is English Literature with an Education minor, and so, I would eventually love to teach in a classroom. Beyond teaching, I think I desire just to intentionally pursue others, laying down my heart for their needs, and discovering where the Lord is calling me beyond myself. I have an innate need to share other people’s stories. I actually write my own blog as well, The In Between, that focuses on sharing both my passions, such as fashion, food, and faith, but also has become a platform for others with features and fellowship.

paige8

M: The Lord has really laid social justice on my heart throughout the last several years, so as I move towards college graduation I long to know how that will unfold as I enter the “real world.” We were not created to live in captivity, and I am convicted daily that the only difference between myself and those enslaved around the world is where we were born. I would love nothing more than to spend my life ensuring restoration for those bound by slavery, that they may experience life the way God intended; freely. Not only that but also to document through photography and share with the world the harsh realities that plague our culture, so that ignorance would no longer be an option.

What would the “perfect” day look like for you?

P: My perfect day might look like an early morning brunch from my favorite restaurant in Nashville, Marché (!!!!), where I order the most amazing tartine and mimosa, then just sit there happy and full. I absolutely love Farmer’s Markets and being outside with my fiancé (Nate). I think after brunch I would head on down to Radnor Lake or Percy Warner to take a hike and laugh with Nate. Then, I would end my day on a couch with a great movie, some popcorn, and a soda for N.

paige11

M: I would have to say there’s nothing I love more than the days I wake up early and spend the morning outside on the porch drinking coffee with my mom, while my dad and brother cook breakfast for the family and sit there in our pajamas until noon with absolutely nowhere to be. Then finally, when we feel as if we’ve been lazy enough for one day, I’ll head out to spend time with friends, whether it’s a trip to Las Paletas or Jeni’s in 12th South, ice cream is typically a go-to on these hot summer Nashville days. I am so grateful for the family and friends the Lord has placed in my life, so my favorite days are spent simply in their presence, soaking in and celebrating what the Lord is doing in our lives.

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned this past year?

P: This year, I have learned that the Lord is so very sovereign over everything in life. I am so not in control, and just when it looks like I might figure things out, He completely surprises me. I think it is amazing to look back on your life and realize how completely out of control you are. I would have never imagined having the ability to write for EOH, getting creative experience like this, and now, here I am!

paige10

M: As long as I’ve known the Lord has a plan for my life, I have seen time and time again in the past year that it may not (and frequently doesn’t) look the way I had planned. Nonetheless, there is a great lesson in that each time. I studied abroad all last summer, and as hard as some of it was, I have learned more from those experiences than I thought possible. I know the Lord will continue to reveal to me things I learned then that I haven’t been able to apply until now.

What is one word that describes your personality?

P: Joyful!

M: Paige says loyal 😉

EOH Summer Supper

June 9th, 2015

The EOH Team desires to build community both internally and externally. We believe in the beauty of your story and sharing those stories with the world. Every person has a story to tell. So a few weeks ago, we gathered at Emily and Wade’s home to get to know our summer team and hear a little about one another stories. This was a night to both break the ice with new friends and celebrate the vision of EOH. EOH’s Summer Supper allowed each EOH team member to feel welcomed, included, and recognized for their individual story.

SS-1

We started out our evening with a visit from a very special, happy-hearted guest, Miss Elsie. Before bedtime, Elsie got to get in on a bit of the fun.

SS-2

Our personalized menus and gifts were the most thoughtful surprise from EOH. As if dinner wasn’t enough, Emily and EOH team members, Beth and Anna, collaborated on these sweet care packages.

SS-8

Paired with a crisp Bordeaux, these fresh appetizers hit the spot, and they were garnished all from Emily and Wade’s backyard garden!

SS-3

Ss-9

For this being our first dinner party, Wade and Emily went big in their cooking endeavors—taking inspiration and recipes from The Yellow Table. The food only fueled our intentional, meaningful, and always hilarious conversation. Gathered around the Holmes’ ruby red farm porch, hinted with cerulean blue, the dinner party invited college students, mothers, gentlemen, and everyone in-between to eat, enjoy, and be merry enjoying the summer air.

SS-4

In a world, filled with hustle and bustle, Emily and Wade invited their team to take a moment and pause, enjoy the meal prepared with humble hands, and recognize their importance to the EOH team. It is a gift to be able to work with individuals and get to know people’s passions and personalities. EOH’s Summer Supper was only a reflection of our product. Whether it’s a menu, stationery set, or save-the-date, we want to help you share your story. Each product from EOH is uniquely tailored to who you are and the story you wish to tell.

Thank you Emily and Wade for hosting the team with such gracious hospitality and selfless spirits!
