Taylor + Brooke Winter Wedding

January 24th, 2019

A December wedding with all the best parts of Christmas – warmth, glowing lights, and all your people together for one big festive night! And boy, did they accomplish it! How, you might ask? The combination of winter greenery, woodsy colors, the subtle touches of traditional Christmas ornaments and the cheer that only the holidays can bring. With an incredible aesthetic and an accurate reflection of their journey from friendship to marriage, Taylor and Brooke’s day was a fanciful and fun celebration that we were honored be a part of.

Tell us “your story” in a few sentences. Taylor and I met working in Knoxville, and a great friendship turned into an amazing love story. We dated for several years and then each made our way to Nashville. We both knew we would spend a lifetime together from the very beginning, and I was ecstatic when Taylor proposed in his backyard with our dog Bear asking me on his collar: “Will you marry us?”

Pick three words to describe your wedding. A BLAST!, SO us, and unforgettable!

You have awesome style! Tell us a little bit about your aesthetic. We wanted a winter wedding without being all Christmas themed, so we incorporated lots of green touches and deep florals + greenery. I love warm and woodsy tones and a soft palate, so I found my inspiration there. We wanted our wedding to feel like a reflection of us, casual yet whimsical. The Cordelle felt like the right spot for us, as we loved the exposed walls and beautiful lawn.

What was your very favorite detail from the day? The clear tent! I almost didn’t go clear, but am so glad I did as it felt magical in the tent that night with all our people together. I also loved the clear ornaments we used for the escort cards that had an olive branch inside, and a tag with the menu on one side and name on the other. A little hint to the holiday season.

What is one thing you wish you would’ve know before you started wedding planning? There are silly things that you get bogged down on, just remember they’re silly when you’re in it.

Tell us why you love EOH custom paper lovelies! Emily captured the aesthetic of my wedding perfectly before I had even finished the details of the wedding decor. She had the idea of doing green envelopes, which ended up being a theme throughout the wedding. I LOVED how timeless my invites were, and have it framed now at my house.

There are so many things we love about this couple – SO. MANY. But two words that sum up this couple and this wedding are warmth and joy! It was very fitting that they got married during the holidays, a season all about the warmth of being together and the joy of celebrating. Brooke and Taylor have been warm from first meeting them, and have stayed the same over the years. We have known the bride since she was a teen (!!!) and her warmth has been consistent ever since (and Taylor is the same, as was shared at the rehearsal dinner). Two people who are consistently for their people and for celebrating the present. Brooke was the same when it came to her invites – she wanted the first impression to portray a lovely celebration without being stuffy. Enter gold foil on a soft ivory paper and there you have it! A stunning invitation with hand lettering for the names and a minimal font for the remaining portion of the invitations. A full gold foil suite with a green envelope and gold calligraphy for the addresses – not sure it could be more perfect for them! Thank you, Brooke and Taylor, for using EOH for your paper and allowing us to be apart of your life and your wedding! Cheers to many more magical celebrations!!

Casey + Stephen – Beachside Beauty

October 3rd, 2018

What is more fun than a wedding between two people who truly love each other? A beachside destination wedding. Casey & Stephen allowed the natural beauty of the chapel and the surroundings take center stage at their wedding. With the scenic beauty of Alys Beach the couple kept the rest of the details of their wedding elegant, timeless, and romantic.

Tell us “your story” in a few sentences. Stephen & I met our sophomore year at the University of Alabama. Our first date was a Tacky Christmas party and we had a great time! We were together ever since.

Pick three words you would use to describe your wedding. Elegant, timeless, and romantic.

Tell us a little bit about your aesthetic. I wanted everything to be simple yet elegant. The colors of the flowers were mostly white, with a hint of soft pink, and lots of greenery. The bridesmaids wore soft grey dresses. I wanted everything to be neutral with lots of flowers and twinkle lights. The Seaside Chapel is so beautiful on its own that I did not want to add much to it. We brought in a few small flower arrangements, but other than that we let the chapels beauty shine through! The reception was held in a large one-room tent with a clear roof. I wanted everyone to feel included in the party! On one end we had the band and dance floor set-up and on the other end we had the bar with a seating area full of comfy armchairs and couches. The clear tent top allowed for our guests to have see outside and enjoy a different tent experience.

What was your favorite detail from the day? My favorite detail was the reception tent and layout. It was so easy to get around and feel included from anywhere in the tent!

What is one thing you wish you would’ve known before you started planning your wedding? I kept really calm the whole time planning our wedding. We had the best vendors who made everything fun and easy!

Tell us why you love EOH custom paper lovelies! EOH was hands down the BEST. Everything from our save the dates to our wedding suite to custom thank you notes were top quality and stunning. I loved our save the dates, because they gave our guests all the details they needed to know about our destination wedding. I loved the map EOH designed for us of 30a- many of our guests commented on how helpful the map was to get a feel of 30a. EOH were so easy to work with and so sweet!

Casey + Stephen 700x500 (1)

EOH would love to thank Casey (the beautiful bride!), the couples family,  It’s A Shore Thing, and Paul Johnson Photography for documenting this lovely day! We were so thankful to be apart of this wedding and work alongside of your family to help you create your picture perfect day. We also loved the details in your Save the Dates and creating a map of 30a. Thank you for letting us be apart of your day and letting us walk alongside you in this new season of life! Congratulations!

Ann + Donnie – Dreamy Southern Wedding

June 18th, 2018

What says “day of your dreams” more than a magical garden of greenery and strung lights? In every detail, the focus of whites and creams with hints of gold seamlessly folded into the draping greenery. This beautiful southern wedding transformed a barn into a garden that dreams are made of.

Tell us “your story” in a few sentences. We met through a mutual love of all sports. Donnie coaches at my alma mater, Vanderbilt University. We dated for 2 ½ years before we got engaged. Donnie caught me totally by surprise and proposed in the athletics department at Vanderbilt, where we first met.

Pick three words you would use to describe your wedding. Classic, southern, clean

Ann + Donnie 700x800

You have awesome style! Tell us a little bit about your aesthetic. I wanted a very clean, classic, and fresh wedding. Our wedding planners were fantastic and they helped bring my vision to life. We used a lot of whites and creams, some gold and lots of greenery

Ann + Donnie 700x500 (2)

What was your very favorite detail from the day? It is virtually impossible to name just one. I love how it all came together! The ladies at Big Events did such a beautiful job of transforming the barn. If I had to pick one favorite detail, it would probably be the way the ladies incorporated the greenery into the décor. It brought that garden feel into the reception.

Ann + Donnie 700x800

What is one thing you wish you would’ve known before you started wedding planning? We worked with Big Events a couple of years earlier on my sister’s wedding, and I was so impressed with their work. They thought of every detail, and I knew they would do a wonderful job on my wedding. They make sure there are no regrets!

Ann + Donnie 700x400

Tell us why you love EOH custom paper lovelies! I had a very particular vision for my wedding invitation. It is the first introduction for your guests to the tone of the wedding. Emily was so lovely to work with, she listened to what I wanted, and made helpful suggestions. The invitation turned out perfectly!

Ann + Donnie 700x800

This bride, these colors, these photos – BREATHTAKING! We felt honored to work with Ann and the talented team at Big Events on this wedding suite. We love an invitation where the font fills the entire paper with lovely script in letterpress. So luxurious, so classic and so personal at the same time. The color choice for this suite was on point as well! It’s soft, romantic and bold in all the right ways. Thank you, Ann and Donnie, for letting us help you set the tone for your lovely lovely wedding!
