• Anna + Perry – Fun & Simple

    December 1st, 2017

When the focus of the wedding goes beyond the day itself, everything else seems to fall into place. While the gold and blush details of their perfect April wedding stunned, Anna and Perry’s focus on their marriage and the rest of forever is what evoked the beauty of that day. They accomplished the perfect blend of the country barn setting with elegance and simplicity. From the tasteful and effortless atmosphere to Perry’s emotional reaction to his blushing, white-veiled bride, the couple brought their infectious joy to the forefront of their guests attention.

Tell us “your story”. Perry and I were set up by a mutual best friend who thought we would be a perfect fit. Our first date was our first time meeting. Three weeks in he told me he loved me after I had told him I only wanted to say those special words to the man I would one day marry, and yet three weeks after that we knew this was going to last forever. More than a year and a half of dating later, he surprised me and popped the question on the top of the hill at Love Circle (his back yard at that time), later surprising me again with a party with all of our closest family and friends. Then the wedding planning began and Emily was one of my first contacts to have her do my wedding invites! I had seen her work on social media and had received several invitations and Christmas cards over the years. She was also my D-group leader in middle school, so with that special connection and Emily’s design genius I knew I wanted her to design our invites. She blew our minds with what she designed just for us!

Pick three words you would use to describe your wedding.
    Fun, elegant, and simple.

You have awesome style! Tell us a little bit about your aesthetic. Pink has always been my favorite color. Not just any pink, the palest of pinks: blush. Over the past couple of years, gold has been a color that has gained much popularity as well and I love it, especially in combo with blush. I knew I wanted pink and gold water color for the invites based on what I had seen on Pinterest or in photos of other weddings. For years now I have loved the barn setting, and Sycamore Farms provided that as well as a clean, pretty, and elegant atmosphere. I wanted a simple and elegant feel. We did dull white pottery-like place settings, clear glasses, stainless steel flatware, ivory table cloths, champagne runners, and simple centerpieces of an assortment of lanterns, white candles, greenery, and some white/blush florals. Every other element of our day was simple and elegant, and in my opinion PERFECT!

What was your very favorite detail from the day? Other than Perry’s reaction as I was walking down the long aisle towards him, my favorite detail was my dress, veil and flowers. I still can’t get over it all put together. I want to wear my dress again and play princess!

What is one thing you wish you would’ve known before you started wedding planning? I wish I would have known how to delegate the planning more. I am a do-it-myself kind of girl, so this was hard for me to do during the wedding process. I got the hang of delegating towards the end, but I wish I would have known how important it was from the get-go.

Tell us why you love EOH custom paper lovelies! I love EOH’s lovelies because of the personal touch. Emily had my mom and me in her home and gave me the freedom to tell her what I wanted. She took that and came up with the most beautiful wedding suite! She made sure everything turned out perfect and just like I wanted. Not many people are willing to listen to personal opinions and desires. Emily is after creative satisfaction for all of her customers, and that’s just what we are–satisfied and blown away!

Anything else you’d like to tell us?! We’d love to hear! I loved our wedding. I would do it all over again and wouldn’t change a thing. Tips for other brides in the heat of planning–don’t sweat the small stuff. Your groom and marriage are far more important than anything involving the wedding. At the end of the day you are married and get to spend the rest of your lives together. Keep that in focus, and your wedding will be everything you truly want and more.
