Tell us “your story” in a few sentences. We met in 2004, our freshman year of Wake Forest, when we lived in opposite halls on the same floor of our dorm. Most of our friends went abroad in the fall semester and we began to grow closer…Finally, we knew we were starting to go somewhere when I asked my dad, Matt, to let me bring Arthur along to the ACC Football Championship game. Slightly reluctantly, Dad said yes, and Arthur made a wonderful impression on both him and my friends during that trip. In the following days, Arthur continued to dote on me, and we officially became a couple. (Of course, now, Dad takes complete responsibility for conjuring the relationship himself.) The rest is history!

Pick three words you would use to describe your wedding. Simply elegant, worshipful, celebratory!

Tell us a little bit about your aesthetic- colors, inspiration, your personal style, etc…My colors were ivory, grey and aqua, but my flowers also incorporated coral, peach, pale pink, and white. I drew inspiration from what I am naturally drawn to: relaxed and elegant, the “effortless chic” look, if you will, with specific attention to heirloom and interest pieces from my family. The tables had my grandmother’s lace table runners over ikat, chevron, and toile print tablecloths. I have always trusted my mom’s decorative taste, especially since she tends more towards the sophisticated look, so I relied heavily on her input and style as well!

What was your very favorite detail from the day? Giving Arthur his wedding present, personalized Nike AirMax shoes, (she wore coordinating blue ones to match!) and then hitting the dance floor with my family!

One thing you wish you would’ve know before you started wedding planning…I wish I had any kind of a concept of what I wanted my wedding to feel like and look like…I’m the type that hadn’t ever spent time studying wedding details!

Tell us why you love EOH custom paper lovelies! Emily has an amazing ability to relate to people and figure out exactly what they want! Even if I didn’t know what I wanted, she was able to gather info from me and create something I was automatically in love with. She has a wonderful sense of whimsy and elegance, with a tasteful eye of detail and restraint on all of her products! Obviously, the paper lovelies are fantastic, but the loveliest part is Emily!

Anything else you’d like to tell us?! We’d love to hear! I would choose EOH Custom Paper Lovelies for all my paper needs! I am hooked! Thank you for everything. What a blessing this company is!

About the wedding paper suite….For the wedding invitation and program, Anna wanted to go with simple elegance. Everything about this suite calls back to the classics. While her save-the-dates and party invites had a fun flair, her wedding day paper had a more formal feel.

Anna’s wedding invitation suite was engraved which turned out amazingly! Engraving is a very antiquated method of printing where a plate is engraved and then pressed into the paper, leaving the images raised from the paper. Her family crest was engraved in a beautiful gold and the rest of the suite was in black. They used a wax seal to close up the envelopes- so lovely! This wedding suite was elegant from start to finish.

Congrats to Anna & Arthur on a very lovely day…with thanks to Big Events & Paul Wharton Photography!
