Local Nashville Gift Guide for Mother’s Day

May 8th, 2014

Mother’s Day is almost here! Why not celebrate your mama in style with goods from local Nashville makers?! Being a part of the small biz community here in Nash has given EOH the inside scoop on some of the best artisans and creators in our area. We’re always wowed and encouraged by the beautiful products our fellow makers are creating out of Nashville…And we’ve found some seriously pretty gifts we can’t wait to share with you!

As a first time mama + small biz owner here in Nashville, this post is all about two things Emily and the EOH team really believe in – celebrating motherhood & shopping local! Take note on some creative gift ideas…

Personalized Stationery from EOH Anything monogrammed or personalized shows that extra touch of thought + care. We love these floral stationery notecards designed by the EOH team perfect for your mom to mail to far-away friends, kids at college, or grandkids across the country. And if your mama is anything like ours, she appreciates the old-fashioned art of an handwritten note!

Floral Workshop from Consider the Wildflwrs Give something you’ve never given before this year! We love the idea of gifting an experience like an art class or a floral workshop. Your mom can sneak off for a little alone time while she learns a new skill or perfects an old one. Purchase a class just for her or add another so her friend can tag along! Consider the Wildflwrs curates earthy floral classes for locals to learn more about flower arranging…complete with goodie bags, snacks, and refreshments.

Jewelry from Miriam Designs This new jewelry company is founded on creating handmade + hope-filled goods. They teach women coming out of addiction how to make with their hands and create something beautiful. Pick up a delicate necklace or pretty pair of earrings all while supporting other mothers and women in our city.

Kitchen Papers from Hester & Cook These playful placemats and table runners have been sold in shops like Anthropologie and Paper Source across the country, but they are made right here in Nashville, Tennessee! We love the ease of Kitchen Papers because you can tear off sheets of paper goods as you need them, and then toss them in the trash when the party is over. Perfect for the hostess that likes simplicity and a quick clean-up!

Art Prints from Chelsea Petaja Chelsea is an artist in town (married to renown photographer Tec Petaja) who sells delightful watercolor art prints. This one features a sweet e. e. cummings quote about love. She has others with quotes from some of our favorite creatives like Van Gough, Anne Lamott, and Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Yarn from Camellia Fiber Co. Got a crafty mom thats always creating things with her hands? Camellia Fiber Co. produces gorgeous, thick handspun yarn out of her darling studio in Nashville. Plus, all her products are all-natural!

Celebrate your mom + the women who have helped you grow on May 11th! It’s so special to take the time to give them a little something in love and thanks for all they have poured into our lives. And if you are a mama, an aunt, or a special friend- Happy Mother’s Day from us! We are grateful for people like you!

A New Collab! | Inspired by the Simple Life

March 30th, 2014

We are very excited to announce a new collaboration coming early summer! As we move into the slower, warmer days of summer, we have been inspired by all things simple. We can’t wait to unveil our new letterpress line in collaboration with Typographie Press. It is going to be a celebration of all things southern, simple, and warm.

Our new line features letterpress notes, tags, and coasters designed for everyday use. Take a look at a small taste of what’s to come…We have some hand-pressed goodness up our sleeves we can’t wait to show you.

More About Beth of Typographie Press: We are thrilled to bring the old-fashioned art of letterpress to our new summer project with Typographie Press. Not only is Beth a talented craftsman, she is also a very, very dear friend that has been a part of the EOH team for years now. She has her own biz as a “designer’s press” which basically means she doesn’t design herself, but is passionate about helping anyone bring their artwork to life with her letterpress.
