Unpredictability. That seems to be the name of the game when it come to weddings. There may be some details that you care about more than you expected to, and others that you end up leaving in someone else’s hands. Everyone’s answer to the best part of their wedding day tends to vary greatly, and in this case, Kendall walked away loving the music the most. You never know what the day might bring, but Kendall and Carter sure had a beautiful one!
The Couple’s names: Kendall and Carter Henderson
Wedding Date: July 23, 2016
Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Tell us “your story” in a few sentences. We met through friends here in Nashville several years ago and went on our first four dates in one week! We dated for almost two and a half years after that. Carter proposed in Percy Warner Park in December 2015 and we got married the following summer.
Pick three words you would use to describe your wedding. The most fun!
You have awesome style! Tell us a little bit about your aesthetic. I wanted everything to be classic but not too fancy because I wanted to feel at ease. I wanted the flowers to be colorful since it was summer, but still soft and understated.
What was your very favorite detail from the day? The music at the ceremony. We chose a few of our favorite songs and asked a musician from our Church (Stacy Lantz) to play and sing. She brought a couple other musicians with her, and they were amazing.
What is one thing you wish you would’ve known before you started wedding planning? I didn’t expect that I would have strong opinions, but also need a lot of help making decisions. I am so grateful for Linley (wedding planner) and my family!
Tell us why you love EOH custom paper lovelies! Emily was great to work with, and I loved getting to meet with her at her house. We very quickly and easily found inspiration from her collection!
Classic with a sense of ease perfectly describes this couple and their wedding suite. The monogram sets the classic tone while the hand drawn laurel wreath shows the ease and joy that will definitely be felt by all. The bride selected a beautiful textured paper for the wedding invitation with a gorgeous taupe letterpress. Kendall had a triple threat with her suite – letterpress, beautiful calligraphy and luscious paper! Take notes ladies, classic is always in and you can add a personal touch with custom hand drawings by EOH, or hand lettering by the many talented calligraphers we work with each day. We also LOVED working with Linley Stokes, she is the epitome of a Classic southern lady with a sweet spirit who is always on her game! We also had the pleasure of working with Martha Willis, who shared her amazing talent with the painted laurel wreath on the table numbers, menus and Save the Dates! What a gift it is to collaborate with the many talented folks in Nashville. We are always honored to be apart of such a special occasion. Thanks Kendall and Carter for allowing us to help you set the tone for your classic summer soiree.

When the focus of the wedding goes beyond the day itself, everything else seems to fall into place. While the gold and blush details of their perfect April wedding stunned, Anna and Perry’s focus on their marriage and the rest of forever is what evoked the beauty of that day. They accomplished the perfect blend of the country barn setting with elegance and simplicity. From the tasteful and effortless atmosphere to Perry’s emotional reaction to his blushing, white-veiled bride, the couple brought their infectious joy to the forefront of their guests attention.
The Couple’s names: Anna and Perry Beasley
Wedding Date: April 8, 2017
Location: The Barn at Sycamore Farms
Tell us “your story”. Perry and I were set up by a mutual best friend who thought we would be a perfect fit. Our first date was our first time meeting. Three weeks in he told me he loved me after I had told him I only wanted to say those special words to the man I would one day marry, and yet three weeks after that we knew this was going to last forever. More than a year and a half of dating later, he surprised me and popped the question on the top of the hill at Love Circle (his back yard at that time), later surprising me again with a party with all of our closest family and friends. Then the wedding planning began and Emily was one of my first contacts to have her do my wedding invites! I had seen her work on social media and had received several invitations and Christmas cards over the years. She was also my D-group leader in middle school, so with that special connection and Emily’s design genius I knew I wanted her to design our invites. She blew our minds with what she designed just for us!
Pick three words you would use to describe your wedding. Fun, elegant, and simple.
You have awesome style! Tell us a little bit about your aesthetic. Pink has always been my favorite color. Not just any pink, the palest of pinks: blush. Over the past couple of years, gold has been a color that has gained much popularity as well and I love it, especially in combo with blush. I knew I wanted pink and gold water color for the invites based on what I had seen on Pinterest or in photos of other weddings. For years now I have loved the barn setting, and Sycamore Farms provided that as well as a clean, pretty, and elegant atmosphere. I wanted a simple and elegant feel. We did dull white pottery-like place settings, clear glasses, stainless steel flatware, ivory table cloths, champagne runners, and simple centerpieces of an assortment of lanterns, white candles, greenery, and some white/blush florals. Every other element of our day was simple and elegant, and in my opinion PERFECT!
What was your very favorite detail from the day? Other than Perry’s reaction as I was walking down the long aisle towards him, my favorite detail was my dress, veil and flowers. I still can’t get over it all put together. I want to wear my dress again and play princess!
What is one thing you wish you would’ve known before you started wedding planning? I wish I would have known how to delegate the planning more. I am a do-it-myself kind of girl, so this was hard for me to do during the wedding process. I got the hang of delegating towards the end, but I wish I would have known how important it was from the get-go.
Tell us why you love EOH custom paper lovelies! I love EOH’s lovelies because of the personal touch. Emily had my mom and me in her home and gave me the freedom to tell her what I wanted. She took that and came up with the most beautiful wedding suite! She made sure everything turned out perfect and just like I wanted. Not many people are willing to listen to personal opinions and desires. Emily is after creative satisfaction for all of her customers, and that’s just what we are–satisfied and blown away!
Anything else you’d like to tell us?! We’d love to hear! I loved our wedding. I would do it all over again and wouldn’t change a thing. Tips for other brides in the heat of planning–don’t sweat the small stuff. Your groom and marriage are far more important than anything involving the wedding. At the end of the day you are married and get to spend the rest of your lives together. Keep that in focus, and your wedding will be everything you truly want and more.

When a bride and groom go for the classic black tie wedding, I just can’t help but feel… all. the. feels. I love walking into a wedding where the ladies have chosen their best silk gowns and the men have dressed to the nines in their tuxes. I love when guests have been intentional in celebrating and honoring their hosts by dressing up and rising to such a joyous occasion. Ashley and Hunter’s wedding was no exception— the flowers, rentals, installations, and invites— all welcomed their guests with a bold hello. We love how Austin Gros documented this day, and we wanted to share it with you!
The Couple’s Names: Ashley Joan Horne and Hunter Woodrow Herring
Wedding Date: March 18, 2017
Location: Country Music Hall of Fame Rotunda (ceremony) and Conservatory (reception)
Tell us “your story.” Hunter and I had been friends for 8 years before we started dating. Once we were both single at the same time the sparks flew!
Pick three words you would use to describe your wedding. Modern, chic, and formal!
We love your style! Tell us a little bit about your aesthetic. I like dressing up so I knew I wanted a black tie wedding with all the ladies in formal gowns. I also wanted romance so we used tons of candles for the ceremony and the reception. In every aspect of my life I like bold statements so that was sort of the inspiration for the large tree installation and the linen choices for the tables.
What was your very favorite detail from the day? I can’t pick just one! We did the ceremony in the round which I loved, but I also have to include the tree installation at the center of the head tables! It was truly a jaw-dropping element in the room.
One thing you wish you would’ve know before you started wedding planning? Do not drag out the planning process! It was six months from engagement to my wedding date and I think that was the perfect amount of time. But I thought I needed a year and I was wrong. Any longer and I might have gone crazy!
Tell us why you love EOH custom paper lovelies! People literally called us to tell us how gorgeous our invitations were! What more can you ask for?!
Details on the Wedding Suite: Ashley and Hunter have great taste and we loved collaborating with them on this bold and timeless wedding suite. The couple chose a luxurious thick Crane lettra paper with all black letterpress and a gold foil custom monogram. The bright white paper and square size also gave it a modern twist compared to the traditional rectangle invitation. And to top it off – the fabric liners! The couple selected black moire fabric liners that were absolutely lovely! Thank you again for letting us help you set the tone for this elegant evening!
Anything else you’d like to tell us?! We’d love to hear! Never underestimate the importance of finding the right wedding planner for you. I cannot imagine going through all of this without Big Events!
A special thanks to Big Events and Austin Gros for allowing us to feature the Horne/Herring wedding on our blog! We are so grateful Ashley and Hunter that you chose to use EOH as the first glimpse into your wedding day. Thank you for allowing us to share in such a special moment.
